Linear Motion & Force
Vectors & Scalars
- Vectors have a direction and a magnitude
- To add, or subtract vectors, we can use the pythagorean theorem
- Scalars only have a magnitude
SUVAT
- S - displacement
- Speed is the scalar version of displacement.
- U - initial velocity
- V - final velocity
- A - Acceleration
- T - Time
- The equations;
- $v=\dfrac{s}{t}$
- $v^2=u^2+2as$
- $s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2$
- $a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}$
- $v=u+at$
